2021 'The Barn' McLaren Vale Shiraz
Colour: Deep ruby hue.
Aroma: The nose is intense with black cherry, plum and spice.
Palate: This old vine Shiraz has dark intense fruits with oak lurking in the shadows.
The 2021 vintage and the Foggo Road vineyard: A bit of a mistake by young players. Brad likes things tidy. We ripped out a couple of rows to tidy the vineyard and a few weeks later tasted this wine.... Turns out the grapes make great wine, probably our best shiraz to date. Brad has stopped the excavator and we are tending the vines we still have with care. Menaces..
‘The Barn’ label – handcrafted 40 years ago with rendered mud brick walls and recycled old beams. The Barn is a beautiful old structure overlooking Turraparri creek. When we finish renovations, it will be the perfect location for our cellar door.
